Football

This term Room 5 were lucky enough to attend the football clinics held at Elm Park School. We learned some new and exciting games and skills. We also got to play our very own game of football in the giant, inflatable pitch.

We had an amazing time!

Measuring

This term Room 5 have been learning about measurement during maths time. We used tools from the maths trolley to measure different objects in our classroom.

PJ and his friends discovered that the door in Room 5 is 35 dominoes long.

Learning my Letters

PJ has been working really hard to learn all of his letters and the sounds that they make.
I am matching the lower-case letter and the upper-case letter with a picture that starts with the same sound.
Well done PJ for being so resilient.

New Zealand Landscapes

On Thursday 5th September the Year 1 students went on a trip to North Head, Devonport. This term we have been learning about New Zealand landscapes and the natural and man-made features found within them. We got to explore the natural hills, rocks and beaches as well as the man-made tunnels, paths and trenches. We had a great time seeing and learning about new things!

Here is PJ with his friends Zahrai and Zavier exploring the beach.

Junior School Assembly Performance

In Week 2 Room 5 were the presenters at the Junior School Assembly. We were lucky enough to wear traditional Tongan tapa and lei as we preformed a Tongan song called "Malimali Mai". PJ was such a great dancer and even taught some moves to other students in the class for the performance.
